Interior Design Process

Interior Design Process – Residential Space

Every project begins with a conversation. In this case, the initial contact focused on understanding how the kitchen would be used, the clients’ habits, their aesthetic preferences, and the real spatial limitations.

Since the main part of the kitchen had limited square footage, a clear goal was set from the very beginning – to make the most of the space without compromising functionality or visual lightness.

Concept Design – Setting the Direction

The first phase of the project was the development of the Concept Design, which served as the foundation for further development. Through on-site space analysis, measurements, and the definition of functional needs, two to three floor plan options were developed with different furniture and equipment layouts. Each option offered a different approach to organizing the space and defining the relationship between the kitchen and dining area.

Defining the Basic Guidelines for the Space

Along with the floor plan solutions, the basic guidelines for wall and floor finishes were defined, including proposals for colors, materials, lighting, and sanitary elements, as well as a moodboard that visually communicated the desired atmosphere and style. This phase gave the clients a clear insight into the potential of the space and made it easier to make decisions and set priorities.

Selecting the Final Floor Plan Option

After a joint analysis, the floor plan option that best matched the functional needs and desired way of using the space was selected. This solution became the basis for further Design Development.

Design Development – Developing the Space Down to the Last Detail

In the Design Development phase, the selected solution was further developed by individual kitchen zones. Through precise planning of custom-made elements, especially the side line of full-height cabinets, the storage capacity of the space was significantly increased. Built-in appliances and pull-out drawers were integrated into these elements, raising the functionality and tidiness of the space to a higher level.

Special attention was also given to connecting the kitchen with the dining area. By creating a smaller bar area opposite the dining table, an additional work and communication zone was created, ideal for quick drink preparation and everyday use.

Visual Representation of the Relationship Between Materials and Lighting

The Design Development phase included creating moodboards for all kitchen zones with specific materials, colors, and finishes, as well as 2D views and sections with clearly defined details. Through realistic 3D renders from multiple angles, every visual element of the space was developed – from the relationship between materials and lighting to proportions and ergonomics.

Space Development

The renders were used as a tool for confirming design solutions, communicating clearly with contractors, and obtaining realistic and comparable offers for materials, equipment, and furniture.

Technical Design / Construction Documents – Technical Precision for Reliable Execution

The final phase of the project was the preparation of Technical Design / Construction Documents, which form the foundation for high-quality and controlled execution. Detailed technical drawings were prepared for all planned works, including plans for the construction of new elements, wall and floor finish layouts, and precise plans for lighting, sockets, switches, and switching scenarios.

Documentation

The documentation also included a clear specification of materials and manufacturers, giving contractors an accurate understanding of the project without the need for on-site improvisation. High-quality technical drawings enabled faster execution, fewer corrections, and more precise offers.

Final Space

As part of the project, supervision and coordination with contractors were also carried out, ensuring a smooth realization and consistency between the designed and executed solution, with minimal changes during the works.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions before starting a collaboration.

How long does a typical project take?

It depends on the size and complexity of the project.

  • Concept Design: 2-3 weeks
  • Design Development: 4-8 weeks
  • Technical Design / Construction Documents: 10-12 weeks

Supervision during construction usually lasts as long as the work itself - from several weeks to several months.

What are your prices?

The price is formed according to the type and complexity of the project, square footage, deadlines, and the level of detail you need.

We also offer a personalized approach by preparing individual offers after consultations, because we treat every project as unique.

Contact us so we can review your situation and options together.

How can I use your renders after the project is finished?

Renders are part of the design documents and can be used for:

  • More detailed coordination with contractors
  • Visual presentations for potential buyers (if you are an investor)
  • Marketing purposes (in the case of commercial spaces)
  • A better visual overview before the work begins
Can I combine services (e.g. concept + development)?

Absolutely. Most clients start with Concept Design and then continue with Design Development or Technical Design / Construction Documents once they are sure which direction they want to take.

This allows you to make decisions step by step, without the obligation to do “everything at once”.

Do I need to be present during consultations?

Initial measurement and analysis: It is preferable that you are present so we can clarify the specific needs and possibilities of the space.

If on-site measurement is not possible, it is necessary to provide accurate floor plans with marked dimensions, photographs of the space, and as much written information as possible about your wishes and vision for the space.

Later phases: Working with photographs, measurements, and written communication if that suits you better.

Consultations can be held online, by phone, or in writing.
